Paul Nelson joined our office after a thirteen-year career in private practice before which he served as law clerk to the Honorable Benjamin F. Gibson in the Western District of Michigan. Paul is a graduate of Michigan State University and a cum laude graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law.
Paul has been an Assistant Federal Public Defender since 1997. Since 2001 Paul has been the appellate specialist in the office and has appeared in almost 1,000 criminal appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. .
